Work / Faking a driving scene by night

During my post-production master's course, a team of colleagues and I challenged ourselves with trying to create a driving scene shot at night without actually driving. A small mirrorless camera-rig was used to get interesting perspectives from within the car. To create the illusion of driving, we used footage of a city environment that was displayed on a huge TV which we carefully placed behind the car windows. To mimic the passing street lights we had several people moving practical lights on set. In hindsight we really should have set up a witness-camera to document all this ;-)
